(this post isn't about a shoe- but it is a pretty cool looking shoe wouldn't you say?)
ok so I know many people aren't really interested in politics. I'm sure many of you would rather watch paint dry than to be updated regularly on what is going on in the country- plus it seems like an endless mess of crud...and really I mean really what can we really do about all the problems going on???
There is A LOT we can do. If you actually know what is going on then you can have the chance to be involved. It is so fun to call the Senator's office and complain. You should try it...and if you want to write a letter you can do that too- and almost always you will get a letter back from the capitol. It is kind of addicting-
I have heard many people say "we all know things are going to get worse, there really isn't anything we can do but get prepared for what's to come" I honestly hate hearing that. I really do. It doesn't make sense to me that we have sort of just given up...I don't think we understand what power lies in us when we are freedom fighters! God is on our side. So just don't store away your wheat and watch our freedom be taken away from us- we should store away our wheat and fight too! It isn't about parties anymore- red, blue- blahhhh they are all kind of mushy stinky right now- how about Truth, Right & Wrong, Principles, Morals, Agency- this is what we need to fight for- too often power and logic are overruling true God derived principles...and I'm sorry- I don't want to be on the side lines watching it all crumble. We really can do something. We really can. Even if we never see it happen in our lifetime- we must make a mark for our future generations.
You see, freedom and liberty are God-given rights to man. They are sacred rights and with every good thing- comes work, sacrifice and constant nourishing. When things get tough and rocky it is our natural tendency to throw away liberty for safety.
What happens when people would rather have security before freedom?
This quote should open your eyes just a little:
(Ezra Taft Benson served as the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to President Eisenhower for 8 years while also serving as an apostle and prophet- the following quote is taken from a talk he gave at BYU in 1968-as a governmental leader he shares his experience/conversation he personally had with Nikita Khrushchev- who at the time was the leader of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964)
“I have talked face to face with the godless communist leaders. It may surprise you to learn that I was host to Mr. [Nikita] Khrushchev for a half day when he visited the United States, not that I’m proud of it. I opposed his coming then, and I still feel it was a mistake to welcome this atheistic murderer as a state visitor. But, according to President Eisenhower, Khrushchev had expressed a desire to learn something of American Agriculture — and after seeing Russian agriculture I can understand why. As we talked face to face, he indicated that my grandchildren would live under communism. After assuring him that I expected to do all in my power to assure that his and all other grandchildren will live under freedom, he arrogantly declared in substance:“‘You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.’“And they’re ahead of schedule in their devilish scheme.” (Ezra Taft Benson “Our Immediate Responsibility.” Devotional Address at Brigham Young University. circa 1968.”)
AHHHH- holy smokes!!!!!!! I can really see our country taking in small doses of socialism. If you disagree- then you should study socialism- and compare to our congress and president's agenda... and of course socialism never comes across as bad or scary at first- it sounds more comforting than anything else.
Who wants to learn??? This video easily teaches about forms of government so you can understand what all this mumbo jumbo you are hearing about- it actually isn't boring-quite interesting and factual. Enjoy. Please take notes- there will be a quiz following- ok I'm kidding obviously.
fight freedom for friday once again

I just wanted you to know that I actually did watch the video and thought it was quite informative. I enjoy reading your FFFF's. Keep it up! Most will just stand by and watch their freedoms dwindle to nothing.
April - great video. I loved how it so clearly explained the difference of the different forms of government. Why don't they teach this in school? Why don't our gov't leaders study history - if they did they wouldn't try to reinvent differnt programs, bailouts, etc. Oh, can't they see that we are slipping like the Greeks who had a limited gov't and then gave it all away. Thanks for all your efforts - you sick twisted freak! (ha ha - you know what I mean)
Thank you John and Tiffani for watching the video- I honestly didn't think anyone would watch it- I know it was 10 minutes long- but wasn't it good?
This video has actually got me thinking about doing something...kind of neat and strange in my family...I will update soon.
I did a blog search of Ezra Taft Benson and found yours.
I think you would be interested in my blog. I'm at
stricklandhappenings.blogspot.com
let me know if you have suggestions to make my blog better, because I think you could give some. And especially if you have any more ideas of how conservatives hurt their own cause. I have a blog on that in the right column. I've heard your Benson quote before. I'll look it up myself and likely post it to my blog. I have many quotes posted from Benson's political book the "The Red Carpet:Socialism the Royal Road to Communism" in the right hand column. Thanks for the great post! Hope to be reading a constructive criticism from you on my blog!
