I definitely believe in simplifying your life....but 320 sq. ft....that would drive me crazy!! You would have no privacy in that home and no food storage! I'm glad others are simplifying but that is too much for me!
Wow! I am very impressed with this. It's simple, it's organized, it's practical, it works! It really puts a perspective on how spoiled and selfish our society has become. We really don't need all these fancy accessories and vasts amounts of space that we have! It's so wasteful. Also, this is very humbling. Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without really applies here, and that also stimulates creativity. However, this family only has 1 child. A bigger family would need more space, as each child must have their own space to call their own. Also, there was no space for food storage, and that is a must! But overall, this is a wonderful way to live and a good example. I do not compare this to a trailer in anyway. It's completely different.
I am waiting for the video to upload because of my super slow connection -it's all that is available out here. But I can tell you already that my answer is "no" unless it was an extremely rare situation. I have to take my food storage and emergency stuff with me! Plus, I need a little personal room to function.
Guess I can't complain about my 900 sq ft anymore! Storage would be a problem for me...where does this family keep all of their photos/yearbooks/journals/memorabilia etc.?
I think this is great! For a small family only. You would def have to be organized and creative. Not to mention a close family. Brilliant idea though, with as many foreclosures as there are right now. A cheaper, nicer alternative to a trailer. I could do it if I had to. I actually think it looks cozy. Not to mention not having a house payment! And can you imagine how amazing their utilities are? I think people THINK they need more than what they really do. But like she said, I'm sure they had alot of people that were less than supportive. I could totally do this though.

I wouldn't do this. Too claustrophobic. But I have seriously considered getting rid of my house and getting a motorhome. Even looked into schooling the kids on the internet. The only reason I don't is because I don't want them missing out on the classic American experience, but I tell them all the time that they had better not mess up because they don't have to go to school and have a social life. lol.
I love to simplfy lately. It really is freeing when you get rid of stuff that is cluttering up your home. I deffinitly could not do 320 sq. ft. though. Could you imagine all of us in that thing? And then have a family dinner party? (all of the noise) hahahaha changes everything...
“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our inner most being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth.

I saw this posted on theblaze.com. I thought WOW! If food storage wasn't a priority, it would be a fun challenge to "try".
Wow, simplicity to the max. It would certainly lessen the workload and free up time. I enjoyed seeing this and the grateful attitude of the owner. Bev
