operation home2

so I was getting pretty excited about how well this whole cleaning schedule thing is going- until I saw this picture on a blog...and I about puked.

ok first of all I thought it was a universal rule that sheets aren't suppose to be neatly folded after they are washed for the first time. I can understand flat sheets but fitted sheets with the elastic corners??

Aren't you supposed to kind of just roll them up in a ball and stick them in the closet????

I can imagine the woman who posted this picture to be carefully rolling her sheets in her organized laundry room, humming while she ties and lables her sheets in beautiful ribbon...

wow - that lady must have come and taken a picture of my linen closets! NOT! i actually think my sheets have no home right now in the closets. It's a sad organizational mess. my mom and grandma are totally great at folding the fitted sheets and though they have taught me, i can't figure it out for the life of me... so i just end up pretending they are semi-folded. that lady must have the cutest closets ever. sigh...

I hope that was a gift!! That lady seriously has some OCD problems....who in there right mind would do that to their sheets? I'm with you...the fitted sheets end up in the ball and thrown in the closet. I can never get them folded looking nice.

Well I have to tell you April that I have been thinking of you each morning as I do my chores. I keep thinking about you following a routine - so I try to get as much done by the time the kids leave for school - which is 8:30. We have family time (o. prayer scripture reading, singing, article of faith, c. prayer) then they get ready and eat breakfast. In the meantime, I make sure they have everything for school, throw in a load of laundry, clean up breakfast, sweep, pick up things, etc. I yet to have an actual schedule! Yesterday I called a friend and said do you want to go to Costco with me in 10 minutes. She said she was half tempted but had bathrooms to clean, etc (this was at noon). I told her not to worry about the bathrooms because they will get dirty again! I conviced her that the work can wait and she came with me. I like a clean house but sometimes I have to weigh the price. I know there is a middle ground....but I'm not there yet. However, I have been doing better at keeping up with my laundry - that's a plus.

I'm pretty sure I would never been friends with someone like that. Unless they were selling their sheets or something. If that is the case, good idea. Poor woman, she must lead a lonely life.

I know what blog you saw that on....Vanilla Joy! I saw it on her blog last year. I laughed when I saw it....I don't have time for organizing like that! :) Looks cute but is so not realistic.

ok I am loving the reaction this is getting- crazy lady and her sheets...

Tiffani I would totally go to Costco with you over cleaning the toilets...I have decided to just do as much as I can in 45 minutes to 1 hour in the morning...and now that day 5 is approaching- my house is so much cleaner- this is really working! I just needed a plan- I function better if I have a plan-

and the one load of laundry a day is really working too- I won't let myself do more than one load...

but Tiffani- you have a totally different life than mine- and your house is like 5 of mine and you have twice as many kids...so...I don't even want to imagine a cleaning schedule for your house...although your kids are older and they can help more!

Marne- I totally got that picture off of vanilla joy! I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

That lady must have had the help of the birds, rats, and cockroaches in her house! Just sing a happy song and see what happens!

Tracie- you are so right- it has to be rats and the cockroaches...how else?

Okay, who really DOES that? I mean, I love things neat, organized, and even pretty, but come on...
